Robert Moncuit
Blanc de Blanc Grand Cru 2004
A wine of considerable finesse this vintage offering from Robert Moncuit is a step up from the N/V. It shows similar characteristics to the N/V but has more elegance and length while probably being a tad dryer too. A wine I think will develop beautifully with some time on cork. An absolute bargain vintage Champagne!

Florian Mollet
Sancerre 2010
Classic to the Sancerre style this wine shows the dry and mineral characters that you would expect to see in wines from this region and combines with some lovely grapefruit flavours and zesty acidity making this a great food wine and distinctly different in style to the Marlborough phenomenon! For lovers of a refined Sauvignon Blanc! Vive la difference! Under screwcap!!

Domaine Fouassier
Les Grands Champs Sancerre 2010
This wine has that lovely texture that seems to allude the sauvignons from across the ditch. Zesty acidity and more citus than passionfruit this is the style of Sauvignon that I can drink. A perfect accompaniment to some fresh seafood.

Chateau Rousseau de Sipian
Medoc 2005
Just landed a new shipment of this wine after we sold through the initial tranche very quickly last year. A classic cabernet blend showing all the hallmarks of the very great 2005 vintage. Now some 6 years old the shackles are just starting to loosen showing an expansive palate with lovely cigar box overtones and dusty tannins. This is Bordeaux!! And at a very reasonable price!

Cascina Arpatin
Barolo 2005
For those looking for a Barolo that (a) won’t break the bank and (b) doesn’t take an eternity to shed those tannins and become drinkable here is the wine for you! Still has those typical Barolo characters of spice, tarred leather and rose perfume but with softening tannins and no ferocious acidity. A lovely savoury drink at a bargain price.

Cascina Arpatin
Barbaresco 2006
Ditto comments for the Barolo but probably slightly chunkier tannins though certainly not over the top! Plenty of liquorice and spice here with a long lingering finish. Definitely a food wine as all good Italians tend to be, a perfect match to a tomato based dish, yum! Top value!
$39.99 per bottle
El Arte de Vivir
Ribera del Duero Tempranillo 2009
$19.99 per bottle
With Spanish wines being so fashionable I thought this wine could be a goodie. I love the juiciness that you can find in these wines and this one has it in spades! Made in a modern style with lashings of lovely spicy fruit but balanced by some European savouriness. A very drinkable wine!! Great alternative to Cote du Rhone. 89pts from Mr Parker too boot!Sebastien Dampt
Chablis AC 2010
This is a great find!! Sebastien Dampt, son of Vincent, is making classic Chablis. A great believer in the old style of no oak and plenty of minerality. This example from 2010 hits all the high spots going stupendously with seafood, it is hard to fault. My house drink at the moment! Under screwcap

Chablis ‘Vaillons’ 1er Cru 2009
The next step up the ladder in the Dampt range gives a more intense version of the AC wine. From the majestic 2009 vintage in Burgundy this wine is absolutely yummy. The added richness means it is a good companion for white meats as well as the staple seafood pairings. Again direct from maker means it is the best value 1er Cru around!!
